The National Women's Enterprise Day aims to inspire, activate and assist women across Ireland in running their own business.

National Women's Enterprise Day 2013 took place on 16 & 17th October 2013 at Portlaoise Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise, Co Laois.

National Women's Enterprise Day 2013 - Creating Connections ..... Building Business.

Successful businesswomen shared their experiences with start-up companies and fledgling businesses, at a two day event organised by Ireland’s 35 County and City Enterprise Boards.  In 2012, the County and City Enterprise Boards supported 16,525 women in business.

The aim of ‘National Women’s Enterprise Day’ is to encourage even more women to set up their own businesses and to increase national recognition of the essential role played by Ireland’s female entrepreneurs.  NWED 2013 is co-financed by the European Social Fund with support from the Department of Justice and Equality, through the Equality for Women initiative.  Download the NWED Conference Brochure HERE.  Advice, mentoring and networking were key elements of National Women's Enterprise Day 2013 with a panel of experienced mentors available.

The winner of the irishtimes.com NWED competition is Laura Stakelum from Holycross, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Thank you to all the 608 people who entered the competition.  Congratulations to Laura.

Keynote speakers at NWED 2013 were:

  • Ramona Nicholas, Cara Pharmacy and Dragons' Den 2013
